Book Description: Fratelli Treves, Milano, 1913. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good-. Second Edition. Apparently the personal copy of the American President; inscribed in Italian to "Teodoro Roosevelt," 1913, by the author (provenance unknown). The printed dedication is also to Roosevelt, quite effusive. Bound in vellum decorated in floral design over boards, moire endpapers, gilt page edges and interior borders of covers. Pages in good shape despite a wrinkle/wave; endpapers more affected by this. The binding is still strong despite the vellum starting at upper front and rear joints, the front more so (cracking down about 3 inches; lower joints starting just a touch. Hinges strong at endpapers but starting a few pages in; text block tight. The vellum is still good, but shows some browning effects. Text in Italian. Bookseller Inventory # 004638
