Three Programming Projects With Visual Basic And Perl Script:

  Book Scanner, Database, and Web Interface:  Wrote Visual Basic programs to scan title, author, and publisher with QuickLink pen scanner, collect data in MS Access database, and interface with Website search engine (ABE) for customer lookup and online shopping.  

  Website:  Designed a website for the bookstore, including a book search page with Perl and java scripts, and developed the graphics with Adobe Photoshop.  Click Tin Can Mailman to view.

  Web Crawler:  Built a program to collect links to buyers' book lists, compare these with books for sale in the store, and create a report of possible sales for staff follow-up.  Currently converting selected programs to Visual Basic.Net

MS Access, Visual Basic, and SQL Programming Applications:

  Payroll Tracking:  Developed VBA code for MS Access to track faculty and staff payroll and benefit costs, including query, form, and report objects designed to facilitate verification and correction of payroll accounting errors. 

● SQL Server:  Migrated the Access data to SQL Server providing query capability to all University department administrators via University intranet.

1999-2000

MS Access and VBA Programming:

  Clinical Trials Database:  Created MS Access database for monitoring results from private clinics performing human phase trials of new pharmaceuticals, on behalf of Omnicare, a Clinical Research Organization.  Created effective user-interface for staff of 50 trial monitors, as well as queries to relate crucial data.

Systems Analysis and Visual Basic Programming:

  Qualcomm database:  Designed conversion from manual (Excel) account management system to an MS Access system, and interfaced with SQL Server.  Evaluated thoroughly the XBS-Qualcomm contract and wrote VBA modules to generate receivables for billing cycle based on contract specification for services provided to Qualcomm by XBS campus facility.

Two Programming Projects with Visual Basic and QuickBasic:

  Anesthesia Drug Techniques Access Database:  Designed drug technique system in collaboration with Dr. James Crews.  The system enabled rounding physicians to generate exact dosages for patients in Anesthesiology Wing.  Wrote a program to connect the Access database to a Palm Pilot 3, providing access by physicians during patient visits.

  Neurology and Anesthesiology Testing:  Designed and coded a  program to perform the standard battery of neuropsychological tests using a Kurta digitizing tablet, pre and post operatively, with cardiovascular surgery patients to measure change in cerebral function.
